My Word for the Year: Implement
Each year, I choose a single word to guide my focus and decisions. Rather than setting rigid
goals, choosing a word of the year for personal growth helps create clarity, direction, and
momentum across health, work, and life.
Last year, my word was Consistency. This year, my word is Implement - because real
change doesn’t come from knowing more, it comes from doing something with what we
already know.
For me, consistency wasn’t about perfection. It wasn’t about doing everything right all the
time. It was about doing the things I knew would support my health, wellbeing, and future -
and doing them regularly.
Showing up.
Repeating the basics.
Building trust with myself.
And honestly, that word did exactly what it needed to do.
But as I reflected on the year that was, something became clear.
Learning isn’t my problem anymore.
Awareness isn’t my problem anymore.
Even motivation isn’t my problem anymore.
The next step is implementation.
From Knowing to Doing
This year, my word is Implement - because knowledge alone doesn’t create change. Action
does.
Implementation, for me, looks like applying what I’ve already learnt rather than constantly
searching for the “next” thing.
From a health perspective, that means:
• Making healthier food choices more often
• Eating in a way that supports my energy, mood, and long-term wellbeing
• Keeping things simple, realistic, and sustainable
From an income and future-planning perspective, it means:
• Implementing what I’ve learnt about generating income
• Continuing to build an online business
• Creating systems and assets that support me financially into retirement
No shortcuts. No overthinking. Just consistent, intentional action.
Backing Myself and My Work
Implementation also means backing myself creatively and professionally.
I have a book coming out, supported by a workbook, and I’m also developing a course
that I’m really looking forward to sharing with people. These projects have been sitting in the
background for a long time - as ideas, notes, conversations, and “one day” plans.
This year, they’re no longer staying there.
They’re moving forward through action.
Not because everything is perfectly finished.
Not because I suddenly have it all figured out.
But because I’m choosing to implement what I’ve already learnt.
A Question for You
If you’re reading this and feeling a quiet nudge, let me ask you something:
What do you already know that could change your life… if you actually implemented
it?
You don’t need more information.
You don’t need to wait for the perfect time.
You just need to start where you are.
This year, I’m choosing implementation - imperfect, practical, and powerful.
And I’d love for you to walk that path alongside me.
