Living Beside the Darkness is my personal story of what it’s really like to support a loved one through depression - the confusion, the fear, the heartbreak, and the quiet hope that keeps you going. I’m not a mental health professional; I’m a husband who found himself trying to make sense of a world I never expected to navigate.

This is my lived experience, told honestly, openly, and without sugar-coating.

Through the pages of my journey, I explore the emotional weight that carers carry - the exhaustion, the isolation, the guilt, the “why can’t I fix this?” questions that nobody prepares you for. I share the moments that broke me, the lessons that rebuilt me, and the small victories that reminded me why you keep showing up, even on the days you feel completely lost.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel… we just don’t know how long the tunnel is” - those words became my anchor when everything felt too heavy to hold.
